Snyder

The Scurry County Museum is calling for entries for their annual Big Country Art Show which will be in April. Entries are due by late March and is open to young and seasoned artists. There will be five categories; high school, Western Texas College, Professional, Community Youth and Community Adult. Applications can be picked up at the museum, for information call 325-573-6107.

Cross Plains

The Cross Plains Public Library offers GED classes every Monday and Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. All materials are free and students can enroll anytime by just showing up. This is the library’s sixth year as a satellite classroom of the Abilene Independent School District’s Adult Education Program.

Thurber

The W.K. Gordon Center for Industrial History of Texas will feature researcher Tim Pinnick at 2:20 p.m. Sunday for a program about African-American coal miners who worked between 1988-1921. Contact the museum for information by email at gordoncenter@tarleton.edu or call 254-968-1886.
